Religious Education
Religions are different paths congregating to the same point, therefore differences are meant not to divide, but to unite communities.
At St John’s Primary School, our mission is to create joyful and meaningful experiences for children in Religious Education (RE). We aim to provide a well-structured curriculum that helps students develop a deep understanding of the world, including both religious and non-religious beliefs, while fostering a personal faith and love for God.
As a Church of England School, RE forms a key part of our curriculum. We follow the Stoke Agreed RE syllabus, which includes the study of the Abrahamic faiths: Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Our pupils also learn about Hinduism, and Humanism. This reflects our school community.
Supplemented by the ‘Understanding Christianity’ programme, our RE lessons encourage creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking.
