Our Early Years
Our Early Years Vision:
At St. John's Early Years, we welcome, celebrate and respect all.
Through our values of dedication, courage and joy, we follow in the footsteps of St. John to enable curiosity and develop the foundations for a life of learning.
On our shared journey of faith and understanding, we aim to inspire our community to look within and beyond themselves to enable
'Life in all its fullness' John 10:10.
Our Values:
Our school values of ‘Dedication’, ‘Courage’ and ‘Joy’ are at the heart of our everyday life in delivering our Early Years curriculum and life.
Dedication – Children want to learn and challenge themselves in new activities and learning.
Courage – Children want to try new things. We nurture to give them the courage to do this.
Joy – Children in the Early years at St. John's have a love of learning, and are happy to be a part of our school.
Our Early Years Ethos:

Throughout the day, children have the opportunity to access all the areas of learning within the classrooms, and in our outdoor learning area. Children’s learning is supported by adults facilitating and questioning; planning, that includes the children’s interests and events happening in everyday life.
Exciting News - Muddy Mondays and Wellie Wednesdays are here!
Every Monday, all children in Reception will have the opportunity to engage with the curriculum in our outdoor area for the entire day. Similarly, every Wednesday, all children in Nursery will be doing the same!
To make the most of the experience, children are invited to bring a pair of wellies which can be kept at school for them in a named bag. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather:
Cold or rainy days: Warm coats with hoods, gloves and hats.
Hot and sunny days: Sun cream and sun hat.
We are excited about this adventure and appreciate your support as we encourage outdoor learning every week.
