Parent and Carer Morning Club

We have a Tuesday morning club where any parent/carers are warmly invited to come along.

It starts at 8.45am and finishes at 10am.

It is a time of chatting, laughing, drinking tea or coffee, eating biscuits, colouring - or even having a place to share a worry or two, if it helps. It’s for you to have a bit of ‘me time’ with others who can help if needs be.

Parent and Tots Group

On Wednesday we hold a Parents & Tots group in the Hub.

Pre-school children play with the toys and parents can sit and have a talk with other parents, or play with the children.

Feel free to come along each Wednesday 8.45am—10am. It is £1 a session, and a drink and toast is included.

Orchard Community Trust

Following full consultation with our board of governors, which is represented by staff, parents, Local Authority and foundation governors, we are excited to announce that we have made the decision to initially join the Orchard Community Trust as an associate member. This will enable St John’s to be part of a committed partnership where we can gain support for our community but also offer support, and share the great work that also takes place at St John’s with others.

The Orchard Community Trust (OCT) is a group of Stoke-on-Trent schools who also work with schools in Cheshire and the Humber, so have the balance of working closely together in Stoke but also look outwardly to share best practices in education.  You can find the Orchard Community Trust website on the link below:

We will keep you updated as to the partnership journey and the activities that our pupils, staff, parents and governors will take part in over the coming academic year.

St. John's staff and pupils regularly work on projects together with the Beth Johnson Foundation to support and develop intergenerational work.  We also work with Keele University to support research projects.  Please see the video below showing the latest research documentary work supported by funding from Keele University.

Keele University

The St. John's teams link regularly with Keele University to support research work.  Most recently our children took part in a healthy lifestyle promotion day, led by Masters Pharmacy students.  Some very lucky families also attended the live filming of the Royal Institution Christmas lectures.
